Restart from roll
« on: Apr 21, 2006, 06:41:54 AM »
My boss rolled his 01 tundra and I was going to see if it ran but before I restart it I would like some advice.  It was on the top for a couple of hours and I checked the dip stick and there was no oil on it.  I assume it is in the cylinders.  I figured pull the plugs and crank it over to pump the oil out (add some oil to the pan).  Check other fluid levels etc.  Is there anything else I should I do...I don't want to screw it up because I'm planning to buy it from him if it runs.  Thanks Jase

The oil is probably on the road where it rolled not in the cyls. won't hurt to make sure though. When you hook the battery up just make sure to have a fire extingusher close by just in case. Other than that fire that sucker up. Once you establish that it runs don't forget to check the trans and diffs for oil before trying to drive it anywhere. You basically want to check all fluids, once you establish that it still runs. Just make sure you have engine oil in it to start it.
