PS conversion issue
« on: Jan 12, 2006, 08:16:49 PM »
I have an 84 pick up that didn't come with power steering.  So I thought i had amassed all the part neccesary i got the bracket for the pump the box the lines and the pulley that goes over top of the other pulley for the drive belt. The pump, resivior, and pully all came from the same guy with an 84 Sr5. So when i went to bolt up the other pulley, the holes doen't line up with the watterpump and it doesn't fit over the existing pulley........ I don't know if i need to get another waterpump and pulley or if i just need to find another pulley.

Well, you wouldn't need to change the pump, but what do you mean by "So when i went to bolt up the other pulley, the holes doen't line up with the watterpump and it doesn't fit over the existing pulley....."

What hole are you taliking about??  The PS belt doesn't drive the WP...WP is driven by the alt belt.  PS belt goes from crank up to tensioner then to PS and back to crank.  Is that what you meant?
