Howdy from N. Cali
« on: Dec 29, 2005, 01:30:01 PM »
Hey there. I just signed up. Im a 20 year old college student from a little town called Nevada City wedged up in the sierras somewhere. I bought my first toyota truck 1 year ago to date. I have been a huge toyota fan for years though, just took  a little savings and lots of searching to find my dream rig. Ive got her now though. I am relativly new to automotive stuff, I am t rying to learn as much as possible. Its kind of hard though when you are the only one on the family to know an alternator from an axle. But Ive got lots of books and a lot of enthusiasm. I hope to one day be canny enough to really build my own rig, instead of just bolting things onto my runner. But for now I take it one thing at a time.

Here is my rig:

I've got a little into her so far, nothing too spectacular. But as I figure stuff out we'll see how it evolves.

Little Red Runner stats:

1985 4runner SR5 EFI
2 inch springs w/ greaseable shackles
32x11.50 bfg muds on rock crawlers
F&R custom bumpers
Aging Warn Winch
Downey Headers, Flowmaster muffler
limited slip rear
marlin sliders (awaiting welding), all pro tcase member
marlin 4.7s (by far best investment!)
other misc stuff

I have a lot more planned but for now im going to wheel it how it is. I got new BFGs a lil while ago, so im gonna mob those for now. with my marlins i can go all over the place. Anyway, glad to be aboard, I look foreward to learning

Peace. :gap:

Those where my thoughts too rockscrambler...it'd be nice to have another woman on the board. Nice looking runnner. You need to lock up the rear and with the 4.7s you'll be going all over the palce. Just point and shoot. Must see more pics...of the truck too

hey your tires flat ;) and you have no flex!

:welcome:

dont worry, both those can be fixed by you with the knowledge you will gain from the people here ;)

I think the flat tire helps his flex though :hahaha: Now you need to let some pressure out of the rest of the tires.

Like Gturismo said, you have an excellent start, can't wait to see some mods... if you decide to do any to it.

Yeah right now I am just getting the knowledge so that I can use it later. I dont have any friends with fancy shops I can use, one of my friends has a decent garage and plenty of tools for everyday repairs and like, but its not like I can build anything at the moment. She does fine now how it is so I think im gonna wheel her like that for a while until i have saved up enough cash in my mobber fund (and somewhere to do the work with care w/o redneckin it) to get rid of the 32s.

Thats the way to do it, if you don't have the place for now your 32's will do fine, your limited slip probobly helps a lot.

I was gonna do the same, but I do have the tools and a garage, so I just went all out. :yesnod:
