3rd Member(s)
« on: Oct 17, 2005, 12:14:10 PM »
I have a friend of mine that got an 81 pickup as part of a house purchase.  The truck is missing the rear 3rd member so I am on the hunt to see what is available.  He has been told that the truck had lockers front and rear and is trying to find out what gears are in the truck, I suspect that they might still be stock 4.10s but I have not had the chance to take a closer look.

(1) Does anyone have one, or a pair of, stock 3rd with 4.10 gears?

(2) How about a set of 4.88 R&P 3rds open or locked?

The build budget isn't large, the house is the primary focus right now, so I'm looking for reasonable solutions.

If the gears are stock I would like to see him move the front 3rd with locker to the rear and just install a stock open 3rd in the front to get it on the road.

Thanks!

I doubt it has a locker in the rear since the rear 3rd is missing.... :gap:

What am I getting for $150 shipped?  My buddy is still trying to figure out what R&P are in the front differential to match.

$150 shipped what a rip off.  If he really needs and it can pic it up I got two with 4:10's and also a set of 3:90 gears if he wants them. but there my spares and I really don't want to part with them.  I get rid of them for $50 each
