rear shaft to front question?
« on: Oct 07, 2005, 08:11:46 PM »
as im looking to get a new 1 peice shaft for the rear of the truck, i was looking at the 2 rear d-shafts that compose the driveline and was wondering if the rear portion of it would fit the front?? i looked at it closely and seems like its the same pattern and would bolt up ok  :headscratch:  has anyone tried this or know if it works?? i know its not a cv jointed shaft but at my current state, its better then what is on the front at the moment  :ack:

Thats what I used to build my square front shaft.  My 2x truck had a two piece rear d-line so I used the rear half for parts.  Worked out great.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

If your putting the cv in the rear you'll have to either re-drill the flanges to have the correct bolt patterns or just do as I did and swap the flanges front to back. ;)
