Need to know on lenghtening of a stock 86 IFS CV jointed front drive line will work for a 4 or more inch lifted 85 SA pickup..? what was the advantage or disadvantage? will the lenghtening of a stock driveline enough for wheel travel and compressing? all common's exp's are welcome..thanks

It will work but you will need to lengthen and clearance it. I have link on my home computer that I can send to later with an article on clearancing that will help you.  :)

I have heard/read that 6 inches is necessary on a flexy setup. Zukizzy built my front d-shaft with an 85 CV (no clearancing necessary) and Marlin's 6 inch long spline unit from Japan. The long splines are really nice. ;)

I think Marlin's spline kit is actually 8 in. Even better!

When I lifted my Runner, my front driveline was dangerously close to coming apart, even after I had it lengthened.  And my truck isn't even very flexy.  I would recommend the long spline kit mentioned above.  Some people make and run a square tube driveshaft.  They are very beefy and you will NEVER have to worry about it coming apart.  Only downside to a square driveline is vibration at higher speeds.
