Well, the Miss' & I drove up to Reno this weekend and got married!!!!!
I have to say it's the best way to get married ever! (for me anyways, I've been to 6 weddings this year!)
The only hard part was calling my mom and her mom. Wow....that was fun...
My mom is the traditional Catholic mom, ya know, church on Sundays, don't sin, that kinda stuff.

Dude! CONGRATS! That is awesome!
That is the best way to do things, I would have done the same if I wasn't positive my mother would have been heart broken.

We lived together for about 7-8 or more years and tried planning weddings but they always got too costly and was too much of a PITA. I really didn't care if we got married or not, we weren't having kids so I didn't see it as a necessity, but MrDubya was self employed and it would be the cheapest way to get him health insurance.

One Valentines day we were out and he mentioned he had run in to a mutual a friend that asked if we were still together. He confirmed, she joked she's a notary and can marry people, my father and step mother were coming down over the weekend of Mar. 7 and it was then that we said. Well? WTF?

So between Feb 14 and Mar. 7 we organized a wedding at the house. It was so quick and easy and was the most awesome wedding. It was so quick that it was like the night before we realized we had no one to hold the rings so I called my cousin (who was already invited), told her she's the maid of honor, and he called his friend (who I don't think knew it was happening) and told him he was the best man.

It started about noon, was over about 5:00, we went to Blockbuster, rented a couple video's, popped another bottle of champagne and said WTF was that??

and so the Mammoths were born.

OK more sisterly advice....shower together.

I don't mean have s3x in the shower, not that there is anything wrong with that, but in general. Just shower together when you have your daily or whatever shower, it's a great time for talking. It's rare that MrW and I don't shower together.
And my favorite. KEEP SEPERATE BANK ACCOUNTS! YOu can have one joint acct. where you put a predecided amount for bills and such if you like, but having yer own personal mad money saves on a LOT of arguments.
