now that someone brought it up, I can't stop looking!! It's a BIG spider, and when you hit one of their webs, YOU KNOW IT! Of course not so big it can't be squished, but they are BIG. YOu really have to watch for them if you're out riding first thing in the morning. This picture above is a good example of the size, but most of them are ver beautifully colored. If you can avoid running in to them they are really cool looking and make incredible webs. I remember one time, when we were off mudbogging, I went off into the brush to use the "ladies room". I walked smack dab into a web. It'll about stop you in your tracks. Of course I did the crazed spider web dance to get the web off me, but as I continued on my way it occured to me I could have a spider on my back. Of course this freeked me out all over and I couldn't get my shirt off fast enough! Fortunately I was far enough away no one was witness to this insanity!!
I don't kill them...I like 'em. We have a bunch of them on our property. They are excellent mosquito killers.
Good way to mess up a pair of shoes and maybe even splater the walls. How's your wife gona feel when you tell her you got it and she has to clean up the mess.
Just don't say beetle juice three times and you should be good.
must we kill every thing that cute and fury?
LOL! YOu need AC units in Iceland?? Why not just open a window?
I wouldn't want them in or on my house, but they wouldn't bother me so much eslewhere. Don't think I'd resort to shooting one though. I have to deal with tarantulas by me haven't had any in the house. If I did it would go something like this: loud screams could be heard from my wife, she'd say there is a big spider in the house as she ran out the front door or any available window, next my son would hit the roof, but wouldn't leave (only creature he can't stand) then I would the little punk.
Well, if the ideal of excluding the lesser equipped (stock or otherwise) is accepted... there is no fundamental difference between that and a Sierra CLub ideal of exclusion. If we cannot embrace the 4wheel users as a whole. We are not fighting for access. I cannot be that shortsighted
