now that someone brought it up, I can't stop looking!!  :eyecrazy:

It's a BIG spider, and when you hit one of their webs, YOU KNOW IT!   :scared:

Of course not so big it can't be squished, but they are BIG. YOu really have to watch for them if you're out riding first thing in the morning.

This picture above is a good example of the size, but most of them are ver beautifully colored. If you can avoid running in to them they are really cool looking and make incredible webs.

I remember one time, when we were off mudbogging, I went off into the brush to use the "ladies room". I walked smack dab into a web.  :yikes:  It'll about stop you in your tracks. Of course I did the crazed spider web dance to get the web off me, but as I continued on my way it occured to me I could have a spider on my back.  :shocking:  Of course this freeked me out all over and I couldn't get my shirt off fast enough! Fortunately I was far enough away no one was witness to this insanity!!  :rofl2:

I suprised that you still had to go once you got untangled from the web and didn't wet your pants.

I don't kill them...I like 'em. We have a bunch of them on our property. They are excellent mosquito killers.

I wouldn't want them in or on my house, but they wouldn't bother me so much eslewhere. Don't think I'd resort to shooting one though. I have to deal with tarantulas by me haven't had any in the house.  If I did it would go something like this: loud screams could be heard from my wife, she'd say there is a big spider in the house as she ran out the front door or any available window, next my son would hit the roof, but wouldn't leave (only creature he can't stand) then I would :stomp: the little punk.

Oh, she can deal with the mess, (she was a school teacher once) it's dead which would make her happy in itself and is proof that I really did get it and it's not hidding somewhere since I couldn't catch it. (I've been caught on that one)

trantulas run along a split rail fence by my grandma house in Texas, we used to shoot them of the rails with bb guns.  Got to be a good shot that way :yesnod:

Hmmm...think I would have used a good pellet gun rather than a .22 for housework...
