engine maching....in washinton
« on: Jun 17, 2005, 11:59:18 PM »
ok i have a toyota turbo truck that needs a new motor. i have access to a stroker motor. the question since the stroker motor or any non turbo motor. they do not have holes for i believe the water return line and something else not coming to me. ok so does anyone know a machine shop that can drill and tap 2 holes. where they need to be are already on the block just covered. i asked C and D machine and he wouldnt do it. does anyone know of a shop that will drill into the block with the internalls in there? or is this a lost cause?

Damn mang thats sooo easy to do.  The boss's are already cast into the block for you.  Just center punch and drill & tap till its done.  As far as getting the drill chips etc out of the passages you could flush it back and forth a few times and most likely get it all out.

What you need is oil pressure and return. ;)

yeah dan and i went through this over and over. yeah thats the easy part the boss's are already there. one of them i could just take the oil pan off and catch. but the other is a little higher. i really dont want to mess this up is my thing though. would be nice to have it centered in a machine shop.

Sometimes you need to stop thinking so hard and just do it.  You'll learn more from mistakes than by taking 5 years on anything.  You wont mess up the engine, just put a Y in the oil pressure line and run the return into the valvecover. ;)

the return line needs to be gravity flow,
the one you show from the rear of the block should be pressure fed,  i dont have a laser block to look at but just use a braided steel line from any pressurised  oil port, usually 2 on the side with the oil filter, then run it behind the block over the bell and under the back of the head

so if that would i would only need to drilll the lower section and you are saying there should be a hole i can use on the passenger side of the block
