Sorry about the delay.  Where I live you have to wait for days to get online (definately a luxury).  DO I LIVE IN TRONA???   I said I live in Panamint Valley not Searles Valley, check your charts!  Ask Marlin, he was by a couple of weeks ago and had dinner.

Cool, a place to crash.........:b_s:.....I did not think there were inhabitants in Panamint, sorry :thud:

I have a cousin that grew up in Trona, he remembers his Dad giving Ballarat Bob a ride up to Panamint city in their car :o
He talked about a hill they all called Widowmaker.......ever heard of it, I think it is near Trona, not in Panamint :dunno:

hey doc.  i got it in.

i like it.  more power and it revs good too.
i didn't get much for pics though i worked on it at night.

i had the grind the lip off of the tin baffle in the vlave cover so that the rockers would clear with the higher lift of the cam.  i have a habit of turning over the motor with the valve covers on but not bolted to check if they clear enough.  (i had some 454 valve covers get blasted by the rockers before.)
also aftermarket springs are required for this cam .(the stock ones don't calapse enough.

it has a subtle lop and the vacumn is good for braking.
i give it an A.

hey, does that cam give you more low end torque at all?
It sounds like a mid to high range cam.  I guess it depends on what you do.  I wheel though, and i was under the impression that a low duration like 250 or something ( a towing cam) would give you mad low end torque. What do you think, because i plan on doing some kind of swap sometime on my 83

it didn't give me any more low end torque  just lots more of mid/top and it revs higher.
it didn't steel from the low end either.  at least i can't tell.

i run 4:88 gears and 33's and when i rev out a gear and shift to the next one up it pulls nice and hard.(up hill too)  and for wheeling i have 4:1 low range so i'm not in the low low rmps when i wheel.  but i does get down low.  i have to crawl out of my back yard(that's where i park it) and it went down low when i pulled it out.

i think the 33B weber gave me a lot of low end power.  i highley recomend these carbs.  they give out smooth power delivery and the low end is good.  i run mine with that offenhauser dual plenum intake.

so what i believe is that the carb/intake gave me the low end and the cam gave me the freeway barking power.

i have those things and a header and i'm very happy with my motor.

Well I'm runnin a TRD stage 1 cam w/5:29 and 36/12.5 swampers. Everything else stock. I go into 5 gear on the freeway about 50 mph and it will pull 5th all the way to 75  80 no problem. I'm not exactly sure on the specs but I put the cam in before i did my gears runnin just stock 4:10 and a world of difference getting started with the 36's and would hold 65 no problem. I'll try and get some specs for ya if you like.
