Steering shaft/ U-joints, which to purchase?
« on: Jun 07, 2015, 08:18:29 AM »
In preparation of my SAS, I have gathered quite a bit of parts for the build.

I ordered a steering linkage kit from Yodamaster.  It came with a plate & seal for the firewall, an adjustable shaft & 2 crappy u-joints, which have slop in them prior to install.  I do not want to use these, period.  When I received the parts in the mail, the kit was from TG... I vowed to not purchase any of their parts.

Anyway, where can I find replacement u-joints or purchase another entire kit for my project?  I have been searching for over a month for replacement u-joints and am not having much luck.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as time for the SAS is getting close.

Thanks guys & gals.

check summit or jegs. You can pretty much install whatever you want to the shaft....if you have a welder.
90'4runner......lots of goodies.

I did check with Woodward.
I spoke to Gloria on Thursday... the plan is for me to send these TG units to them so they can figure out what I have and need, just want to save time, purchase locally (CA), and if I can save the shipping costs each way, that is ideal.

If I do send them, I told her that in return, I'd like a video of them laughing at the u-joints I may send and she chuckled.  Honestly, these are junk.  I wouldn't put them on a go-cart.

Thanks for the reply.

Go to a P-N-P and pull a steering shaft out of a pickup or 4runner.

Any suggestions on what year(s)?

I have an IFS box from MC if that matters.

Thanks for the replies.
