Purchased a 1982 Toyota 4X4 for 200$ Barn find. 100,320 miles on it. Frame perfect, just a little rust and paint is real good. Got it running (sat for 8 years). Since Oct I have had 2 used L52 trannys with issues. No big tires, no hellin around. I have both tore down to make 1 with a rebuild kit and wondered what to do about input shaft. Should I replace it (yes they look warn)...keep in mind it is a 200$ truck and $$ is tight its all going to insurance company and gas. What to do?

I would just buy a whole new transmission from marlin.... maybe you could work out a deal with the cores? $200 is awesome.....

If it looks worn then you should replace it. It will only save you in the long run from having to tear it down again in the future.
