Swapping gear sets from stock case to crawl box
« on: Dec 20, 2014, 02:11:15 PM »
So I've suffered the dreaded broken input shaft on my rear case due to having a 4.7 crawl box in front of it. I have a spare stock case that is forward shift sitting here. I have two different schools of though on what to do.

A.) Just swap the shift rods from the broken top shift to the forward shift and bolt it back together. (Is this possible and what all do I need to take apart to do this?)

B.) Since I'm already pulling two cases apart to do the above, (or am I?) why not take the crawl box apart also and swap the 4.7 to the good case and put 2.28 in the crawl box.
