« on: Nov 16, 2014, 08:39:52 AM »
Anyone have any good or bad experiences with this winch? I have never needed a winch... Dont think id use it too often... Looking for something reliable and long lasting/waterproof. any input would be greatly appreciated....  Id like input on any other winch brands as well..  TIA

Did you find it on amazon for a good price? Had a friend tell me to check out the smittybilt and rugged ridge winches. Said they used almost all the same parts, were built decent and the price was good. Definitely not a warn but it's a good product for the price.

Yeah. Found it for a pretty good deal with the synthetic rope which shaves off 32 lbs for a total weight 40 ish pounds.. not too shabby

i have the XRC8, love it, i have synthetic rope for it too, have used it a few times now. hard side pulls.

one thing ive noticed with smittybilt winches is the drum gets hot pretty quick  so always keep an eye on your rope.
