Speedometer Gear Drive In Transfer Case?????How to fix???
« on: Oct 06, 2014, 07:07:12 PM »
I have a 88 Pickup, 22re, 5spd.. The speedometer quit working and have traced the problem to the gear inside the transfer case not turning the gear that the cable goes into, because I replaced that gear and still nothing. Anybody know how to fix this problem without taking the transfer case out, and tearing apart the whole transfer case. Seems I can't get an answer even from some Toyota mechanics???? Help please.......

Take the 7 bolt rear housing off and inspect that speedo gear. You can do this with the t-case in the truck still. Call up marlin and see if they have any speedo drive gears layin around.
