Topic: Bumpstop Questions, Need advise

Hey everyone, I got a lame bumpstop question. I recently purchased the large (4.5x4.5.2.5) daystar bumpstops. I was going to weld them on the top plates of my U bolt flip kit but realized that they are too wide to fit between the nuts on the U bolts. I was thinking about putting in the drill press with a hole saw and trimming the corner edges of the rubber and side metal plate area (about 3/8" crescent moon cut) and call it done? My question is has anyone else come across this problem and what did you do to solve it? Any and all input would be helpful before I cut up $120 worth of bumpstops. Thanks!

FWIW I did a very similar setup to what your talking about but created a small platform that the daystar bumpstops bolted to. A little inconvenient when checking torque on U bolt nuts but all in all they come off quite fast. Don't have any of those pics on my phone, but there are a couple on our build thread on this forum. Check out "the red truck" when you have time, I think it's about halfway down the first page.
