I'm back.
Made some progress, finished off the transfer case/auto mount. Used standard Hilux leaf spring bushes as the mount and then bored out (2) front shackle pins to 12.5mm as crush tubes .
I ran a 75mm x 75mm x 3mm SHS as a solid cross member approximately 50mm behind the gearbox mount. This should give me enough room to remove the gearbox. I also welded (2) pieces of 50mm OD tube into the SHS to remove the mounting bolts.
I started on the diff. Shave the underside and removed the drain plug. Also raised the filler plug (used the lower drain plug as a filler). Plated the front of the diff with 6mm plate. Should be rock proof.
Installed my Marlin Heavy Duty gusset kit. I am thinking I may have to remove the upper one as I may have to re-gig the coilover mounts. We will see!
Fabricated the panhard and upper control arm linkages, j Iust need to make the lower linkage brackets and it can go oof and get powdercoated. The panhard bracket is the issue and whether I have enough room for the coilovers.

OK it has been a while. I have been on holidays and built a trailer.
I had to build the trailer because i told my wife WE needed the Hilux to get wood for the fire when all along it would never be capable of gathering wood!!!
So the trailer is made of redundant Hilux parts, has front disc brakes and front leaf springs, all the U Bolts and bumpstops etc. Came out alright and will double as a good bush trailer as my roof top tent is amazingly the same size as the top.
Anyway, the Hilux has not been neglected. It now has a newly made custom aluminium radiator and some of my Fox gear arrived.
Radiator will still be tight and i will need to trim the lower front crossmember and front body cross member to make it fit. lower outlet will also need modifications.
Budscustoms in Queensland are fabricating my control arms and should here in a couple of weeks.
I have also fitted a 2UZ sump from a Land Cruiser. After lying under the Hilux and then rolling over and under my Cruiser I found the cruiser sump was pretty close to what i needed to make everything fit. Doing a 3 link with a V8 is tight.
I am thinking i will need to trim the front oof the sump to obtain maximum up travel.
