How do I tell if the engine I bought is an 87 or 88 my 4runner is an 87.

If I remember right, the throttle body of a '88 comes off the manifold straight, the '87 throttle body angles down. Hope this helps.

No. This didnt change untill the body styles changed and they went with the new harness

So I thought the injectors are different if so can I use the 87 injectors on the 88 engine ?
