I installed a North West Metal Products fuel tank into 1981.  I am using an aftermarket sending unit 0-100 ohms.   The sending unit only has one wire coming from it.  My stock connector has two wires yellow red stripe(YR) and white black stripe( WB - ground) How should I  connect the wires so that the stock fuel gauge works?

I hooked up the tank with what was my best guess, but the the fuel gauge pegs full but the tank is not full.

Here is what i did.  I connected the one wire from the sending to the YR wire and WB to a ground that goes to the frame and tank.

Any ideas?
