Hi everyone im doing a high pinion conversion in the front of my rig and it says to use a locker or carrier from a v6 or turbo housing. My question is can i use a 4cyl carrier with reverse rotation 5:29s and a v6 master setup kit? the kit i bought comes with a high pinion diff housing, high pinion slinger, solid pinion spacer, master setup kit (v6), and high pinion reverse cut 5:29 gears. All i was told was to just put in a v6 carrier and set it up and im good to go. Im asking this because i already have a 4cyl carrier with a locker already in it and it would save me 350 bucks if i could just use the locker i already have. I know that the 4cyl single cross pin may not be as strong as a 2 cross pin setup but im just trying to save some cash. I believe that the side bearings are the same between 4cyl and v6 so i think they would work but i just wanted to ask if anyone has done it. I know ive put a st of 4cyl gears in a v6 housing and carrier b4 and it worked out fine. any input would be great. If this wont work please tell me. Also if it wont work whats the best locker to run on the high pinion front?
