dual case ?

alright try not to beat me up to bad im a jeep guy but what a new challenge so toyota it is. my ? is i have an 86 with automatic tranny an the transfercase shifter is just to the left next to my leg, i also aquired an 86 sr5 with a 5 spd an im assuming a top shift case, now can i do a dual case setup with these 2 cases i prefer to keep the auto in my truck. my toy is currently ifs front in at which im going to take the axles out of my sr5. also what parts or where do i look to get what i need for the setup. :confused:

It would be better to use two RF1A cases for duals.

are you wanting to keep the stock tcase gears or re gear the rear case your gonna at least need a case adapter to mate the front and rear case youll need to shorten rear d shaft and legnthen front umm...what motor you got if its the 3.0 V6 your gonna have to get a v6 adapter and find another case as the v6 case is chain driven the adapter will let you mate the gear driven case to the back of your v6 tranny

he has a auto in his truck now, which has a chain drive case, andhe has a top shift case spare. He wants to keep the auto, and do duals. $$$$

missed that part yea your gonna drop some coin to go duals id 5 speed swap and pict up another case, pedal assy and flywheel/ clutch way cheaper

no,  sorry.   Inchworm makes an adapter to use the 340H transmission (your auto) but its like $800 :bling:

you'd be surprised by how easily the auto crawls in its stock low range.

ok thanks for the responses, im going to try the auto with the current case an see how well i like how it crawls, if im not pleased with it i will go the 5 spd swap route an then use the two top shift cases i already acquired from onther trucks i picked up cheap. but thanks again for the responses. :driving:

My 86 had the auto and I could crawl right along with people that had duals, its what I call having an autocrawler, it's all in the foot. Honestly the auto set up would be the thing if there were no duals or lower gear sets.

you have lower axel gearing with the atuo than the 5 speed truck to so that helps a little
