TOYOTA 22R-E 22RE ECU ECM Analog EFI
« on: Jan 05, 2005, 06:39:11 AM »
Anybody ever heard of this? Would this be a simple way to do an EFI engine conversion?

TOYOTA 22R-E 22RE ECU ECM TRUCK PICKUP CELICA. This is the 83-84 Analog EFI. It only controls the fuel. Does not control timing. Very popular among Toyota Modders worldwide. It's easily fooled and can be tweaked endlessly.
Beat to fit, Paint to match

Did 75 Toyota (Downey 4X4 conversion Kit)
Doing 88 Toyota 4X4 (Desert race truck)
Next 81 Toyota 4x4 (drive train upgrade)

Even tuners who enjoy caburation, like Dragsters and I believe the fastest normally aspirated FWD car is carbed, they have computers to control the timing advance and spark control. It just seems to me that the only advantage of this would be that you wont stall out on step angles.. Your gas mileage wont be as good as a true EFI, and the torque band will be just as narrow as before.........

...........just is just thinking outloud, Ive never done this.. :twocents:
