Testing alternator out of truck?
« on: Jan 04, 2005, 10:26:35 AM »
Is there a way to do this, either my self or by taking it somewhere? I really do not want to have to put everything back together again to test it if I can avoid it at all.

When I worked @ Kragen, we had a bench tester. They test for free as do most parts store IIRC because they want to get your business when you need a new one.

If you know any high school shop kids, have them take it to school and test it.  When I was in high school I made some $$ doing that for people in the neighborhood.

Find someone with a load tester or take it to a parts house like suggested
