First 4 Runner.....
« on: Jun 03, 2010, 09:58:44 PM »
 Got my first runner it is a 88 SR5 automatic. Luckily everything works  :driving:. Gathering parts together to get it SAS'd. Looking at the 63 Chevy's springs for the rear and a lunch box locker. All because the wife wanted a more gas friendly toy. :beerchug:. Bumpers front and rear and sliders will round out my wish list for now.

:welcome: man! Go with ford explorer springs in the rear. They are not as long as chevy's. They are 54" and they flex real good!!  :twocents:

I installed the locker in the rear this weekend with the valve adjustment to round out the weekends work effort.

Had the auto tranny get stuck in first gear the other day for no aparent reason. Fixed itself after turning the truck off and checking the linkage for proper movement. So the tranny swap may move up the list a little bit. But it has been driving ok for the last two days.

I second the F150 springs. Take out the load leaf and they are great. Flexy and extend ur wheel base a little.
