Mine works fine, even with hydro assist i haven't had a problem yet. Maybe it's overfilled? Do you have a cooler of any type?

after I installed my hydro, if mine was over full, it would leak out after I shut it off. but other than that it runs and operates fine.

It could be possible that you still have air in there, it will cause the fluid to foam and push out of the reservoir. Try cycling the steering wheel back and forth to see if there is still air.

what's likely happening is due to an increased fluid capacity by adding your cooler (and whatever else), you're at some point draining your reservoir after you start the engine which will allow air into the system. you can check this by starting the truck and have someone turn the wheel while you look down into the reservoir to see if you're sucking it down. Once you aerate the system, it will want to foam up you'll overflow the res once you turn the engine back off.

...what to do? ...get a bigger reservoir.

Been there done that, took almost 1/2 a day the last time I did an install to get most of the air out.

Another thought would be the wrong size pulley on the pump, if you used the original pump there could be a different fluid requirement between the rack & pinion and the steering box you now have.

you'll want to cycle it from stop to stop a few times and it will push the air out, the big give away is looking into the reservoir to see if you're sucking it dry. If you are, it will obviously keep sucking air and there's nothing you can do until you get a res to hold a larger volume.

Did you prime the box? If you left it dry be prepared for some buff arms before you get all the air out.
