softening springs
« on: Jun 16, 2010, 08:12:39 PM »
hey fella's

i wanna soften up the springs on my truck

it's a 83 hilux

anyway i was wondering how many leafs could i remove from the packs before it would be road unsafe?

the front springs are a 3 pack skyjacker 5.5" that i removed a leaf from when they were originally a 4 pack leaf.

my rears are a a 4pack 4" spring with extended shackle.

thanks for any advice guys

Get some new springs... The only way.  RUF and whatever your heart desires in the rear is the cheapest and best.

skyjackers are notorious for riding VERY rough,  get some Marlin or AllPro front springs and put some F150's in the back then you'll have a real smooth ride

alright great.

is the RUF a bolt in swap or will i need to move my shackle position back?

would i use a stock leaf pack from the rear? i'm running 35's now with some minor rubbing as it sits
