Replaced all the bearings and syncros in my trans. Installed Marlin's retainer plate, 1-2 shift fork, and shifter bushings. Also had my flywheel resurfaced with a .026 step and installed Marlin's 1600lb clutch. It shifts great, no noise. Tight and smooth. After about a week it started intermittently popping out of 2nd gear when decelerating.
It didn't do it before I got into it. I had the shifter bushings in for quite a while already. My 1-2 shift fork looked OK but I put Marlin's in anyway. There was no bearing failures. I wanted to change them out because of high mileage. The syncros "looked" good but had no clearance between them and the gear face. The new ones took care of that. Everything was within specs as per the FSM.
The interlock balls, springs, and pins were all bagged and tagged on disassembly and went back together as per FSM and I took plenty of pics to make sure everything went back correctly. I didn't have any left over parts.
Where did I go wrong?
