it was a true buy 3 get one 1 free, then last year they changed the details to buy 3 get 1 free up to $200.  so it basically screwd ppl buying larger tires and you had to pay the difference. imo, the sidewalls are sketchy and i've see my share with holes, as far as street goes

I hate to say it, but the worst mud tires I've run to date are the pro comp mud terrains.  Ran a set of hercules mud tires after running a set of cooper muds years ago, only 2 sets of new muds I've bought, and both hooked up great and had great sidewall flex without airing down too far.  I had to push to break either loose on a dirt or gravel road, but the pro comps break loose waaaaay too easily running the same psi!

Buyer beware  :twocents:

I had a good experience. I paid $685.00 mounted, balanced and road hazard. My truck is now a definate DD cuz I'm going to school full time now. So I bought the pro comp AT's and I love the way they ride. I installed the mud terrains that I had on another set of rims just in case I have the time and money to go on a run.

I dont feel that they are, as you call them POS, bad tires. I've got close to 15k miles on them. Plenty of runs throug the desert, 4 trips from AZ to CA, Out to the hammers twice(light trail use). DD every day 80-100 miles and they work FINE for me. I've also rotated them a couple of times. Made sure the tire pressure stays constant. They ride soo nice. So, AGAIN, I like these tires. As for the price, put up some numbers to support your claim. If I paid too much, so be it. I'll buy these tires again when the time comes. Oh, and also, they are wearing right nice too considering that I have an Aussie locker in the rear.

when i worked at a lift kit shop i was searching for tires for my crawler, 4 37 iroks where cheaper than 3 x-terrains.

i have also seen a few pro comp tires turn into tank tracs while on the highway(both sidewalls seperated from the tread. you may have good luck with them but i've seen enough go wrong with them to say they are crap

All that aside, the pro comp muds I just got rid of were hands down the worst tire I've ever run off road.  Not the worst mud tire, but the worst tire period.  Plowed through corners at low speeds on dirt roads, horrible in the snow, and did worse in the quaggy grass above my place than my bfg a/t.

Not trying to dodge any bullets here. I'm just speaking highly of the ProComp AT tire only. I have no clue what or how the other designs hold up or not hold up. Thanks for all of the input though. I'm sure all of our recommendations and discussion will help someone in choosing the "right" tire for their application.

I just went out in the mud with my 35x12.5 I wasn't impressed. they really didn't clean out well at all. I do like the tiers and don't really think deep gooy mud was there intent.  I thought they alright every were else. the road noise is not bad at all
