Any one know anything about cad?

So i think im going to go back to school finally in the fall for mechanical engineering, but since there are a lot of cad classes i want to get a head start considering i dont know jack about cad.  Anyone know of a good cad program with like training software or somthin?

if you got a student email (.edu) you can get a copy of autocad for free at students.autodesk.com

From what i've seen they teach solid works more than cad for ME majors these days, i've used both and like CAD more but have a ME friend who loves his SW. Guess it all depends on where you go. I believe there are tutorials built in, and some online i'm sure. Personally I just started playing around with the program and got 3d modeling down pretty well just trying things out for myself

talk to big mike. He went to Fresno state for (ME) and had classes with my brother in law.  He graduated last year but if I'm correct mike is still in school.
