I think I got it. It was a vacuum leak on the intake manifold. But now it idles at 2000 rpm. Do you know how to adjust it? And it runs good for 10-15 miles everytime I take it apart then sputters and dies. I installed a 2nd fuel pump and its doing better. Also, where the throttle cable hooks up to the carb the nut was loose so I tightened it and now the throttle doesn't want to close?

should be a philps screw on the passenger side to adjust the idle if its too high, if its not that you've probably got a vaccum problem

It won't idle unless its all the way in and the rpms won't go below 1800 now... any ideas on where to look for the leak?

The float isn't flooding but its pushing too much fuel into the motor

Still haven't got it... trick little bugger! I'm gonna check the head and intake manifold to see if it is warped. Sometimes it gets waay too much fuel and others the float bowl is dry... it'll run fine then start to buck and want to die

mine simply refuses to run correctly on a stock carb but runs like a dream on my 32/36 weber. stock carb it misses and u can see a shake to the motor and if i try to drive it it bogs and dies

I only have a stock carb lol it will run fine for 6 or 7 miles then die then I let it sit for 10 min and it'll run again. If I open the throttle and blow down the carb and clear gas out it will run fine for the same but its less of a wait :turtle:
