Topic: 3rd gen pickup rear speakers are not working!

Yes, the deck is hooked up properly, I soldered the wires myself (which I am no idiot at)

there is either a problem in the wiring or the things inside the speaker box, I assume they are small amps?



Is there a common problem with these speakers?

So, 30 minutes with google and I find the solution!

My truck has built in amps for the rear speakers, they are turned on when the headunit tells them to (THIS IS IMPORTANT)

I wired my headunit and omitted the connection for the "system remote control" wire on my pioneer headunit, this should be connected to the amp wire on the wiring harness, thus activating the amps in the speaker boxes and restore the rear speakers...

i had the same problem in my second gen 4runner. one day the rears stopped working. i tried everything. ended up running new wires from the deck to the rear speakers

I only have 2 massive 4" speakers up front......

So they stopped working again, I think the wire came loose ( it was just a spade connector)
