« on: Sep 16, 2009, 10:44:24 AM »
hey guys new here i posted over on yotatech and never really got the answers i need. i am helping a friend build his 83 Toyota pick 4x4. we swaped the wiring haressness out of another 83 to his only difference was his truck was ac the other was not  we removed all the ac parts. got the 22r in (replaced the 20r someone installed) got everything working but for the charging system. we has installed 3 alternators 2 voltage regs. did not have a charge light so we swaped out the relay with another and now the brake and charge light stay on with key on and no charge from the alt. we are so stumped the plug ont he back of the alt is green and the plug  black? the alt also has 2 Post on the back of it both labeled B i need anyhelp you can offer me

well guys we got it fixed i was looking at another post turns out the autopart store gave us the alt for the 6 wire external regulator where ours was a 5 wire took ti back and got the right all alt. and now it charges. the charge light doesn't work (wouldn;t go out tried another lamp relay then it wouldn;t come on but it read 14.5 volts at the battery so i think we are good for now!. funy part was the alt we had had a green plug on ti and the wires still plugged into it
