« on: Nov 13, 2009, 08:27:10 PM »
After searching I can not find any vendor who offers a complete power steering conversion for my 80 with stock wornout manual steering.
Our junkyards around here are few and far between.. No old toyotas...
Any Ideas here????

Pretty much going to have to source one from another 79-85.

Ok,
Seems no one offers new kits. Ive got an 83 22r, I wonder were the brackets pumps and steering boxes the same thru out 79-83?
And 79coyotefrg, is that pump in decent condition?  Why do people go to hi steer?  Can you tell the difference between stock power steering and hysteer on the road?

you can get a bracket and pump from any 22R even from a early Celica,

i'll check and see if I have a spare bracket, pretty sure i dont have a pump but i'll check

not the pump, its the pwr steering gear box thats on the frame,

people go to histeer when they go over 4 inches of lift

does histeer work better than stock pwr steering on the hiway??  in my opinion NO,  for driving on the highway i would have preferred to keep my stock power steering.

look in my buildup thread  its in there somewhere
