3.0 rough idle?
« on: Aug 20, 2009, 03:48:12 PM »
well, i just swapped a 3.0 back into my 4runner and now it sounds like its loping at idle.  didn't do it before the swap.  any ideas on what could cause the engine to lope like it has a big cam?

no, its not screwed out, but not screwed in all the way either.  tried adjusting it to see if it helped and it didn't do anything with the rough idle.

check all your vacuum lines.  Make sure they're hooked up right, and that they are sealed.

the big vacuum line down and behind the intake plenum.   it is a large tube that goes into a little flat square box thing.   it's hard to see even in the day lite.   the tube is the size of a 50 cent piece.   anyways that is what mine did.     and it is a pregnant dog to get it back on.   check that out May need a flash light.   think it's on the passanger side.     cool later.
