84 yota thrust washers

so i just got my 84 toyota from a freind,it ran fine for about two days then the most god aweful noise started comeing from the motor,thinking it was a rod or something i pulled the oil pan and there where two thrust washers hideing in there. has anyone ever had this problem and does the motor need to come out to repair this,searched the forum but i am new to this anyone with any answer i will greatly appreciate it  thanks

pull a couple of the rod bearings and see how they look

ive had this happen before,   the trust washers are on top and bottom and front and back of the center main caps

if the front or rear wears to much the other side will fall out
