ok, so ill start with a little back story, i bought an 85 pickup, when i went to pick it up it was night time and i didn't look it over that closely... big mistake. the truck was origanally efi but the p.o. "didn't want to mess with the computer crap" so he swapped it to carb. well now i own it and it runs like

the carb is garbage and i want fuel injection anyways so im gonna swap it back. but here is where the problem comes from the p.o. said he swapped a motor out of a 92 or 93 with only 80000 miles on it. i think he lied, it leaks oil from just about everywhere it can(rear main, front main, pan and v.c.) it has oddball bolts in the timing cover that are too long and are spaced back with washers and the cover was sealed with WAY too much orange silicone. so needless too say i dont trust that motor or the p.o. so i bought an 86 4runner thats efi and i pulled the motor out went through it (internals looked good so i did timing chain and resealed it all). so today i started pulling the motor out of the truck and i noticed the oil pans are different. the one from the runner has one deep sump on the back and the one in the truck has 2 step downs in it. with the back being not as deep as the ifs pan. i would understand if they were different with one being s.a. and the other ifs but i can see where the front diff on the truck has made contact with and dented the middle 'step down' on the pan. so, long story short do i use the pan thats in the truck but contacts the diff or the one from the ifs? or is there another option? thanks in advance.
