Toyota Driveshaft Tech
« on: Jun 10, 2009, 03:45:48 AM »
I have two drive shafts that came with my buggy when I bought it.  Both are stock toyota shafts out of something or another.  I would like to build a new one and the two have some differences.  One of them has much larger u-joints than the other.  Are there number designations for these like other models?  Like 1310, 1330, or 1350?  Does anyone make an offset joint like the superflex ones?

This is what the original owner said about the shaft that was in it.

lengthened 85 DC front minitruck shaft, with an fj60 slip yoke(huge u-joint),

Right now I'm running the spare that came with it cut down.  It's single cardine and has the larger joint on both ends that matches the fj60 slip yoke.  I'm having some issues with binding since I put the rear disco on and legnthened the driveline by nearly 3 inches.
