How To???
« on: Dec 10, 2008, 07:55:51 AM »
My buddy and I are building an 86 22re tonight, I know that there are certian ways that the connecting rods and pistons are supposed to go in. Which side of the engine does the oil hole in the con-rod  go?? And is there a certain way the pistons need to face?
Thanks for the help guys, I just want to make sure that I don't screw this up.

there is a notch on top of the pistons that goes to the front of the motor, and theres a bump on the connecting rods just above the crank journal that must go to the front also, if all bumps and notches are facing front then the oil holes will be in the right spot

Well I got the crank, pistons, and head all on/in the block last night. More to come later. Thanks for the info Glen, it was really easy to see the marks that you described.
