Parking light mod socket?
« on: Oct 29, 2008, 07:49:10 PM »
So ive been looking for the calterm 08547 socket for the parking light turn signal mod, but heven't had any luck. Im guessing they are not made anymore. I already have the 1157 bulbs. Anybody know a socket similar that will work?

Ive been to the auto parts stores in lincoln over and over including once today. They only have clip in sockets. I also had my first rude experience with napa today. I told the guy the part number I had. He typed it in then said nothing came up so he said bring one in so I can see it ??? the first thing that popped into my head was if I already have them why the heck would i need to buy more so instead I simply said I dont have one. He said well why do you need one and i told him what it was for. I was also looking for grille clips also so I pulled out the clip to show him. As I tried to show him he wlked to a cabinet threw a catalog on the counter in front of me, said "look in here" then walked away. At that point I turned around and walked away. I can't even find a smiley for how it made me feel.

When I did mine the only place I found the right sockets was some podunk little hardware store in the ghetto. I tried Napa, Carquest, Oreilly's, and Advanced, none of them had any.
It was just crazy to see this deer leap all suicidal style off this embankment right in front of us.

Ive been looking for a socket that you can at least attach with screws but cant find any. I go around and none of them are in any way similar to that one. Ill just go buy some different types and try today. You can't find new ways if ya don't try.

as long as its a 1157 socket... with pigtails, you should be fine and it should work.... worst comes to it.. go get a stock 84-95 taillight and cut the sockets out.
