MT/R Vs. Xtreme M/T
« on: Jun 28, 2008, 11:10:25 PM »
Looking for 35's to go on a DD/wheeler, that sees alot of road and alot of snow/ice in the winter.

From what I understand the MT/R ($800 for 4) is very good, but what about the Procomp Xtreme M/T ($700 for 4)? Or?

I would not run a Procomp tire. Personal preference. You choose whatever you want to choose.

Why not procomps?

I have seen two sidewalls fail within 3 months of each other on my friends f-150. They were not the Xtreme M/T, but the regular M/T. Since then I decided I will not run a procomp tire. Just personal preference.

Good reason. Would you recommend any other tire?

I have never heard anyone who has run Pro Craps say anything positive about them. I am currently running my second set of MTRs and I love them. The sidewalls are gnarly too on the MTRs. My vote is MTR.

I have had 2 sets of Procomps.  Never had an issue.  I agree that the Goodyears are probably better off road though.  The Pro comps seem to last longer.  And yes the only reason I got the Comps is because they were cheaper./Used.
