Solar Charging...
« on: Apr 18, 2008, 12:15:42 AM »
My truck sits around alot, and with the parasitic drain of the ECU, Alarm, Radio, etc.  the battery tends to get run down..  (it starts, but it's a slow start...)

Anybody know of any really thin solar panels that I could put on the roof or hood to keep the battery charged up?

I want to blend it in with the body and not be that noticable.  (Any paint-on solar panels out there?)

And cheap would be nice.

thanks
Ed

The way I drive, it would stay on the dashboard for long...................

Says it MOUNTS to dash or visor :dunno:  clamps mabye?  :dunno:

If they don't mount, you could use some strong double sided tape to mount it to your dash, or put some screws through the plastic cover.  My dad has the second one for his boat, works well   I'll have to ask him if he has the mounts for it, or if it came with them, he just leaves it on the dash, and then throws it in a cubbyhole.  He's had it for a while though, so it may be an older model
