1979 yota, sb 350/t350 tranny
« on: Mar 24, 2008, 07:57:13 PM »

Im trying to resurect this yota. 79 yota 3"body lift unknown shackle and leaf lift. 4core radiator with sb 350 and t350 trans to yota case and axles.  Im trying to decide what to do.  Im gomma change the lift and body lift to make it lower and more stable.  But i cant decide to "beef" up the yota axles or go to a dana axle.  From the look of the underside of this truck i dont think its ever seen rocks or dirt.  So im afraid that its gonna snap stuff fast when its under a lot of torque... I'd really like some advise on this, thanks a ton and i hope i posted this correctly

its a bit overpowered for the street,  and when i got it sadly its been sitting around for almost 3 years it had a "custom" made steering arm that was welded in about 50 places, so i didn't drive it for a long time.  Recently its been giving me bad looks so ive decided to get it going again and give it the dirt and rocks it deserves....

that thing looks pristine   damn shame  they put a  chevy motor in it  :headshake:

if you go with the  dana it will be much wider  and  therefore  more stable,  which  might be a good idea  with the motor you already have in it

looks like 5-6 inches of lift
