i have a ? about dual t-cases

i wondering if the doner case when building a dual t-case setup has to be a top shift or if it matters i have and 85 4runner and also an 84 extra t-case i was wondering if i can use those two to do the setup or if i need to get a different case

Any 4 cylinder transfer case can be used as a crawler box.  Its the shift rods that are different thats about it.  As long as  the crawler box has the shift rods that are appropriate for the trans your golden.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Let me amend that, you might find a chain drive case behind a G58 thats a full time case but thats another animal completely.  Not that it makes a difference in your case I just wanted to make sure that the proper info was here for searching. ;)

White trash is right about the crawl box but the tcase needs to be a top shift.

right so the rear case has to be top shift and it dont matter abotu the cral box ok then another ? what g-58 what years and models did that come in and how can you tell the difference

id tag under the hood says G58  ,  around  90  i think,   4 cylinder models with the A.D.D.

NO, NO, NO, The crawl box has to match your trans, Front shift trans, front shift crawl box, top shift trans, top shift crawl box
