Topic: help with motor swap please 87 22re in 85 22re

I just swap out my motor in my 85 with a 22re with an 87 intake on it. I can figure out where the a/c vacuum hoses go. the motor runs great. i took it to get it smogged and they failed me for several reasons 1 was visual they said hoes missing cause the a/c lines werent hooked up. then they said cause the 87 intake didnt have the hot start valve or something i forget was its called and i need to take it to a ref but the last guy i got it from show me the smog papers.  And last i failed because of high hc at idle 161 150 max. Ive been reading every related topic i could fine. but cant get it straight help would be nice. thanks david

Use only the block & head from the 87. Use the sensors, intake & exhaust from the 85. Also never give them more info than they ask for.
