I dunno LC engineering claims to be able to get a boatload of HP out of a 22R with their dual side drafts and turbo kits ect.... I can see it being possible.  My question is we all know Toyota Pickups are unbelievably light in the rear end so how does he ever get his tires to hook up with the track???? :headshake:

It's all in the setup with the links and coils.  It's all adjustable, but what I think is crazy. Is the 60 plus passes with not a single breakage and still running a yota 8inch in the rear

You guys can take your race 22R and shove it :lipsrsealed: :_oops:

Sure its got some power but its got no life. I bet his redline was changed to around 6500 (couldnt imagine much more) to get that power output and a small engine with a long stroke isnt designed for topend power. Its a work horse motor and Ive always praised the 22R for its great bottom end torque (which peaks at a mear 2800rpm which is amazing).

So unless your towing a house trailer up a mountain in record time then its just another 22R. what! :o

Side drafts: That's the way to go for NA power. It's actually what I am doing to my MR2 right now:

(I have made a custom homemade sidedraft manifold. check it out.)

But sure I'm only going to have about 170 hp normally aspirated and my 2nd version of my SC engine was just under 300 hp but that's not to bad from 1.6 liters and a 20 year old and his college budget.

Of course his engine is amazing and he's running 11 seconds with a R engine so thats amazing. I would need a couple more back pockets to build up an 'A' motor to get there so props to him for that-  To bad you cant build a race 22R and use it as a daily driver. It's like a rat engine, everything falls apart

the cans open, im just waiting for the worms to crawl out...  :moon:

Hey BigMike that is a good link  must be nice to have access to all that machinery  and that 22R had over 60 passes with out a single breakage they said. That is dam impressive for that size motor pushing that kind of power. Don't you think. You figure that is 60 plus passes just  :_order: on it.

I agree 60 passes is great and 400 / 2.4 = 167 HP per litre. GET IT!

So how much juice will those squeeze? (? hp shot)

My ITBs are 44mm each... it's gonna be alot of air for a 1600cc engine!

I'm going to start small..about 60 at first..then going up from there. The system should handle up to 200 shot but doubt the motor would take it...I forgot the guy you hooked me up with for 3tc info..He was a great help..I thought duel 40's or 44s would be too much..But he said I should run nothing less with my set up..I can't wait to get it on.. :driving:,,,,

Someone said he is running that much horsepower with the stock 8" Toyota rearend?  Well, the 2WD Toyotas actually aren't running the Toy 8", they have a Toyota 7.5".  So if he's running the stock rearend like he claims he is then he is actually running 400 horses with a Toyota 7.5" rearend.  Just thought I'd share because I have a 92 2WD Toy.
