How to rebuild a transfer case mount

First off you take a sawzall and cut out the rubber, remove the center pin and clean up the plates with a wire wheel. find some bushings in the garage and use those. Make a couple tubes to hold them an weld them on. Find an old u-bolt and use those for pins. Make a few brackets and start weldin' :beer:

I made a few brackets out of some angle iron. Did some fitting and it looks good. Waht a PITA though. Took me almost all day..............

Nice. I'm willing to bet that's a helluva lot more rigid than a stock mount.  How does this compare to stock as far as height?

I was a little worried about the "ears" failing so I added some 1/8 plate between them. I forgot to take a pic, but you can see it in the first post picture.
