Sloppy Rear T-Case Output
« on: Jul 15, 2007, 10:02:44 AM »
I noticed some driveshaft shake at certain speeds the other day, so I crawled under and did the "everything is still bolted on" check, and the output on my case has some slop in it. Can I fix that with just by tightening the nut up, or am I going to need to replace the bearing?

yeah, sometimes the nut gets loose.  pull the driveshaft and tighten it up.

pull the driveshaft off  see if the nut is loose,  if  it is  take the flange off  and see if the output shaft is  actually  loose,  if so   you need , most likely  a  tcase rebuild

There will always be a little play, but you don't want to see a lot.

I haven't had the chance to drive it hard yet, I just wanted to get rid of the driveshaft vibes. Front shaft is about I___________________I that far away from runnable or I'd have it bolted in and have my 4wd.
