lift stock rear drive shaft?
« on: May 21, 2007, 04:55:58 PM »
The 31's on my truck are almost completely bald and I dont have much money saved up to build my truck. I was thinking about getting my 4 inch lift from marlin doing the 5.29's in the rear and 37 inch mtr's for now so I can atleast get around town. Than in that time i could save up to build up my front axle, dual cases and front drive shaft. Could I use my stock rear drive shaft with the marlin lift? I also noticed that my 85 truck has a 2 piece drive shaft with like a carrier mounted to the frame half way and my friends 85 is a solid one piece drive shaft. So basically I wanna do my lift and tires now so I dont have to buy another set of 30's.

i asked the same question a couple weeks ago.  here is the thread http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=33247.0

i'm gonna keep my stock rear, then when i recover from the lift, gears, tires, etc. expenses.  i'll do some duals and do something different then probably.
