Does anybody know?

Does anybody have any idea of what a chevy 350 would weigh out of a 1986 pickup?

Fully dressed...I understand they're about 550#. Never actually weighed one but since even a small engine stand is rated at 750 it can hold one just fine. I've had no problems with my engine stands. If you have access to an axle scale for weighing your truck, throw the small block in the back and weigh it, then take it out and weigh the truck again. the difference between them should be pretty accurate as to the weight of the SB chevy.  :yesnod:

Thats not a bad idea.  I have heard anything from 400 to 650 lbs ,  and maybe differant variations of the motor weighed that much differant I dont know.  I may have to just take it to a scale.

If you do this, make sure you use a public scale at a truck stop. Don't go through the CHP ones. You might get a talk'n too.

What if I goto the dump lol.  Drive across the scale then just pick the motor up and set it on the ground and reweight??   :gap:
Or head down the the county fair and load it on a cattle 4-h scale.  LOL

go to the dump with an empty truck... get the weight.... go home, put the engine in the back, and go to the dump again

That will work as long as you weigh it again after the motor swap or weigh the stock motor and deduct it's weight from the total weight with the SB chevy in the back.....OH MAN!  :screwy:  :headscratch:  ???   :hammer:  :hammerhead:
