Holley 350cfm
« on: Mar 05, 2007, 07:15:00 PM »
Anyone have anything positive or negative to say about the holley 350 kit sold by Downey?

The guy working on ym truck said he could not set the carb right because it either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I know alot of people run webers but on downeys website they said that production has stopped on weber carbs so I am guessing before long there will be nothing but reman webeProbably goign to be ordering either a weber or a holley sometime this month so trying to learn the pro's and con's of each.

I too am interested in hearing about the Holley. My stock aisan carb is ok, but I really like working on Holleys because of the large availability of tuning parts.

I don't know about Holley, but I just ordered a Weber 38 and it only took about a week to get it from redlineweber.com.  I've been very happy with it so far, but I haven't had a chance to try it off road since the trails are buried.  It seems like the main complaint about Weber carbs is that without mods they don't like inclines and side-hilling as much as the stock 22r carb.

Besides the header and the carb, is anything done to your engine? I had looked at the weber 38 but seemed like overkill, can't do any head work or cam swaps for a while because i dont want to void the waranty on my new engine but could use some more power. Guys at work are ragging on be because I drive the speedlimit all the way to work not because I am a good citizen but just because the truck in top gear tops out at about 72-75 depending on the direction of the wind.

Second question what all do you have to do to get a weber to "like" inclines? Have been looking at mods to do on holleys but havent seen anyhting for the webers (honestly haven't looked hard yet though).
